West Street
Street guide, Emsworth
West Street runs west from the town centre, connecting the High Street area to the western residential streets. The street is largely residential, with a mix of Georgian and Victorian properties that have the characteristic Emsworth scale of two storeys, brick construction, and modest front gardens. Some of the buildings on West Street are among the older surviving structures in the town, with eighteenth-century origins visible in the brickwork and window proportions. The street is quiet, carrying mainly local traffic, and has a settled, unhurried character. It is within a very short walk of the High Street shops and the harbour, combining convenience with a residential calm that the busier streets lack.
