Harbour Walk
Street guide, Emsworth
Harbour Walk follows the waterfront around Emsworth Harbour, providing a pedestrian route with views across the tidal inlet towards Thorney Island and the wider Chichester Harbour. The walk is not a single continuous road but a series of paths and lanes that trace the harbour edge. At high tide, the water comes close to the path in places, and the views across the full harbour are expansive. At low tide, the mud is exposed and the wading birds come in to feed. The walk connects the Quay area to Slipper Mill Pond and beyond, and it forms part of the longer Chichester Harbour shoreline footpath network. The surface varies from paved sections near the town to rougher paths along the shore. The walk is popular with dog walkers, birdwatchers, and those who simply want to be near the water. It is one of the defining experiences of Emsworth and can be enjoyed at any time of year.
