North Emsworth
Northern residential area with a suburban feel, Emsworth Primary School, community centre, and good road connections to the A27.
North Emsworth covers the residential area to the north of the town centre, stretching up towards the A27 and the boundary with Westbourne. This part of town includes a mix of housing types, from older properties along North Street and Horndean Road to newer estates developed in the second half of the twentieth century. The area is more suburban in character than the historic town centre, with wider streets, larger gardens, and more modern housing stock. Emsworth Primary School on Victoria Road serves the town and is within reach of North Emsworth families on foot. The A259 runs through the area, connecting Emsworth to Havant to the east and Chichester to the west. Beacon Square, a small local shopping area, provides a convenience store and other basic services for the northern part of town, reducing the need for every trip to involve the High Street. The Emsworth Community Centre on North Street provides a venue for clubs, classes, and community events. North Emsworth is practical rather than picturesque, offering the kind of everyday residential streets that keep a town functioning. The proximity to the A27 provides good road connections for commuters heading to Portsmouth, Havant, or Chichester, while the town centre and harbour are still within walking distance.
